The Brewhouse
Open Call For Proposals
The Call
The call for proposals for exhibitions at The Brewhouse is currently open.
We are interested in painting, photography, illustration, print, and other wall-hanging formats that can engage a public-facing environment. Artists at any stage of their career are welcome to apply, whether proposing a new body of work or an existing series suited to this context.
Selected proposals will be considered for inclusion in the 2026 exhibition programme.
FAQs
Where will my work be shown?
Exhibitions take place in The Grist, a flexible 300 m² industrial-character, white-cube gallery space located within Farsons’ The Brewhouse. The space operates within a public, commercial environment.
Is there a submission deadline?
Proposals are accepted year-round and reviewed bi-monthly (every two months). Applicants are notified within six weeks following the relevant review cycle.
Are there application fees?
No. We do not charge submission fees.
What costs does the gallery cover?
Marketing and promotion, including a coordinated campaign across social media, newsletter, press, and event platforms
Opening-reception hospitality for a curated guest list of approximately 300 collectors, curators, journalists, and art audiences
Listing of all exhibited works in the Bored Peach Club online shop (800+ subscribers) for added sales exposure
What costs are the responsibility of the artist?
Artists are responsible for all production, framing, shipping, transport to and from the gallery, and any associated logistics.
Exhibition duration
Accepted exhibitions run for 4–6 weeks, allowing for sustained public exposure while maintaining programme momentum.
Sales & commission
Standard consignment terms apply: 70% net to the artist / 30% to the gallery.
The gallery commission covers card processing fees, sales administration, and ongoing promotion.
A detailed consignment contract is issued upon acceptance.
What happens after I submit?
Review: Your proposal enters the next bi-monthly review cycle
Follow-up: Only selected applicants are contacted and may be invited to a studio visit or video call
Decision: A formal offer and consignment contract are issued via email
What kind of work do you accept?
We only consider wall-based works suitable for a commercial gallery setting. This includes painting, photography, illustration, print, and other wall-hanging formats.
Proposals for sculpture, installation, video, performance, or floor-based works are not considered due to the nature of the space.
Who can apply?
While our programme is primarily invitation-led, we welcome unsolicited proposals from emerging and established artists whose work aligns with our curatorial direction and spatial requirements.
Due to the volume of submissions, only selected applicants will be contacted.
What materials do I need to submit?

Portfolio link (website, single PDF, or Instagram highlight)
Short statement outlining concept and medium (maximum 150 words)
Please combine any PDFs into one file under 20 MB and submit via the provided Typeform.

Insurance & liability
The venue is equipped with CCTV and staffed invigilators; however, artworks remain the artist’s responsibility while on site.
Specific insurance and liability terms are outlined in the exhibition contract.
Can I propose a project-specific event (talk, workshop, performance)?
Yes. Please outline your concept and technical requirements in the “Additional Notes” field.
Feasibility is discussed during curatorial review. Additional venue hire or technical costs may apply.
Can I reapply if not selected?
Proposals remain on file for 12 months. Artists may reapply with updated work after one year.
